Shoot in Philly

Don't wait for the call. Photograph your fantasy job assignment.
This year's theme is "Shoot Your Ideal Assignment."

Create work that shows your greatest creative potential aimed at getting the kind of jobs you want to have. Make images that will shine in your portfolio. Help us show community creatives that ASMP Philadelphia is the best place to look for photographers.

This year we are dropping all limitations: shoot anything, shoot anywhere, shoot what you love. Submit up to 10 JPEG images by September 28th. Judges will view and rate all images online.

Prizes and awards will be given out to those with the highest ratings. Friends and family will be able to put in their two cents with a People's Choice Award to be chosen at the opening. Finished photo prints that are selected for the show will need to be submitted for framing by the middle of November. Opening reception will be held in January at University of The Arts.

More submission Details will be posted on our site.

2. Subject matter, style and location are completely open. We encourage you to explore and experiment. Push yourself. Try approaching this assignment or theme from a unique perspective. Don't limit yourself, shoot your best work.
3. Participants mail up to 10 images (JPEG, 72 PPI, sRGB, 800 pixels longest side) on a CD or DVD by September 28th, 2008 to:

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL
SUBMISSIONS BE ALLOWED VIA EMAIL!
4. After judging is complete, participants will be notified as to which images have been selected for exhibition. Participants will then have approximately one month to make prints for framing. ASMP supplies framing to participants at a discounted group cost.
5. Participants will also be asked to submit digital files for use in promoting the event and ASMP Philly. We will need each selected image in two sizes: JPEG, 72 PPI, sRGB, 800 pixels and TIFF, 300 DPI.
Adobe 98, 8 inches. All CD/DVDs submitted will not be returned.
6. Focus Philadelphia's "Shoot your Ideal Assignment" show may move to another location after the initial opening at The University of the Arts. All members will be notified.
7. Due to storage issues, ASMP Philadelphia is unable to store framed works. Any works not reclaimed in due time after final showing will be donated to Philadelphia local schools for the frames. All members will be notified of pick up time & place of works.

Participants of Focus: Philadelphia have been both assigned commercial work and sold prints specifically because of this event. Don’t be left out - show what ASMP/Philadelphia photographers can do!
