Philadelphia chapter members have been offered a discounts to attend ARTC's Photo SJ 2012, a premier workshop event for commercial and portrait photographers featuring John Russo and Seth Resnick.

For their upcoming show, TIME STANDS STILL, Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA has offered ASMP Philadelphia members their discounted group rate and the upstairs cafe as a place to socialize before and after the show.

Emerging member, Will Connelly hit the ground running two years ago when he arrived in Philadelphia, a transplant from North Carolina. Quickly losing that southern accent, he wasted no time getting involved. Within months of joining ASMP he was invited to a board meeting and left with exhibit space reserved in POST (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours) and a to-do list for the chapter.

The Visual Arts Division of the United States Copyright Office has ceased sending letters recommending that visual artists submit titles for each work being registered in a “group registration of unpublished images.” We have recently learned, through tests of our own and those of the Copyright Office, that there are previously unknown problems when uploading titles into the current eCO system — errors that do not occur consistently and may not give out any warning signal.

Choosing twenty finalists from more than 150 projects submitted for the seventh annual Best of ASMP was a challenging task. The quality of work was overwhelmingly strong, and nearly one-third of the submitted projects received a rating of four or above in a scale of one to five. Submissions came in from most of ASMP’s 39 chapters, along with several strong international candidates. In 2011, Best of ASMP finalists truly have a global reach, with image makers hailing from nine different states in addition to Switzerland, Indonesia and Australia.

CameraCake.com is a searchable database filled with resources contributed by our users. When you submit a resource to CameraCake.com, the database generates a page that includes the URL and a brief description you provide. Other users can "like" or "dislike" the resource and add reviews or comments.
